Dear Jennifer-
I have dark brown/ almost black hair. What color(s) of the color rub do you recommend for maximum pop?
Thank you!
Molly
Hi Molly,
Please see the comments I left! This seems to be a popular question! I love pink, purple, teal, blue and orange for brunettes!
Is it true to do u need to bleach hair if u want to achieve the ombré style?
Hi-
Well it depends on your starting color. Ombre means dark to light so you have to have light. If you are already blonde, you can just make your roots darker. Watch this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiW9YHzXiRg. If you are all dark, then you need to lighten your ends. If you have a specific question, you can post it and a picture of your color and what you would like to achieve to my facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/jenniferjbeauty and I’ll give you some tips.
Do the color rubs work on black hair?
Hi- Yes, color rubs work on all hair colors, even black!
what color powder would go best with jet black hair?
I think the orange, teal, purple, pink, green or yellow would look best in black hair. Thanks for asking!
WHICH COLOR RUBS WOULD LOOK BEST ON BRUNETTES?
I love purple, pink and teal for brunettes, but it’s a personal preference, what color do you find yourself wearing the most?
I’ve seen the color rubs used on people with blonde or light colored hair. Do they show up on darker hair colors like a red/brown color? I would love to try this, but don’t know if it will show up with my hair being dark.
It will totally show up! Pink a few colors so you can alternate
What is your opinion on Wen hair products? I have long hair that is very curly and very frizzy, so I thought this would be my miracle worker. Unfortunately, it seems to dry my hair out and I only use it every other day. On the days I don’t, I condition only. It still frizzes out of control afterwards! Any advice? Thanks so much!
Sincerely,
Olivia
Hi,
Personally I feel that Wen products are really heavy. It’s basically a conditioner with very little shampoo. With curly hair, it’s important to cleanse properly so you don’t constantly have oily hair. I love Wella Professionals Enrich Shampoo and Conditoner, it’s a great every day shampoo and conditioner but is really moisturizing.
Okay so I had dark brown hair and it had a little red in it i went to a hairdresser to get it bleached blond and it turned out orange and blond at the roots. the hair dresser didn’t really have any ideas on how to fix it. can you help give me some tips please and thank-you.
Hi Kacie,
The reason your roots turned out blonde and the rest orange is because it was your natural color at the root which lifts much quicker than hair with artificial pigment on it, which was on your ends. If you had seen me, I would have come up with a plan that made you blonde over time and not all in one visit. If you post your picture on my facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/jenniferjbeauty, with a picture of your color now and a picture of what you are trying to achieve and I can give you some advice. Thanks for posting!
I saw the color rub and was interested in buying it. I was wondering what color would be best for my hair color. I have chocolate brown hair.
Hi Dorna,
I think the fuschia, purple, teal, blue or orange is great for brunettes! They all show up on dark hair, so pick a few so you can alternate pieces!
I have really dark hair and I choose to donate it so I’ve never dyed it because it requires me to bleach it first. In your asnwers to other peoples’ questions you have said you can use the color rubs on any color is that without bleaching or would I have to bleach my hair first for it to work?
Hi Patricia,
What a great thing you are doing by donating your hair! If you ever want to dye your hair, it’s never necessary to bleach it first. Only if you want to be really light. The color rub is a temporary color which means it washes out in one shampoo. It will show up on all hair colors so absolutely no bleaching is necessary!
Was just wondering about the color rubs. Will the color rub off on your clothes or stain your hands? Since it is temporary will it run if you get caught in the rain also?
Hi Janice,
If you use the color rub sparingly it is easier to manage. I always rub it on the hair and then use a fine tooth comb to comb it afterwards to get the excess off the hair strands. You can always spray it lightly with hairspray to seal it too. I tend to wear dark colors a lot so I haven’t dealt with it getting on my clothes. I would imagine if it rained, you might have some runoff on your clothes so use an umbrella!
does it work on dark hair?
Hi Gyva,
It absolutely works on dark hair!
Thanks for asking!

Hi!
I have dark brown hair, and I was hoping to dying my hair a lighter color for my prom this year. I’ve never dyed my hair before, and I was wondering if you could help me decide on a color?
Thanks!!
Hi Teddy,
I would love to help guide you to pick the right color! Please post a picture of your hair now so we can figure out what will work for you. If you have a target photo of what you like, post that too! My facebook page is http://www.facebook.com/jenniferjbeauty. Thanks for posting!
Hi, and thank you for getting back to me. My hair is a really dark brown, almost a black, kind of like Anne Hathaway with her really dark hair color. I would like maybe a shade or two lighter, kind of like Jessica Alba? I’m sorry but I cannot post a picture on here. Thanks!
Hi Teddy,
Without seeing your color but hearing that you want something lighter and have never colored your hair before, I would recommend something that will look lighter but nothing too drastic. I think light brown from http://www.couturecolour.com would be great, here is the link: http://www.couturecolour.com/shop/luxeblend-creme-hair-colour/light-brown/.
Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Hi, I was hoping you could help me. I need a makeover!! I have long THICK hair that is naturally light to medium brown (on the ashy side) so I have been told. Though I have always went with blonde highlights. I have dark thick eyebrows (think Brooke Shields)and hazel eyes, light skin. I have an oval face. I wish I could walk in to your salon SO bad and have you do a total transformation. What would you suggest for a new summer makeover? Should I go darker? lighter? highlights? Should I cut it? IF so what is a good cut? I’m a 35 yr old single mom to three and would love to get my confidence back. Can you help me by telling me what is popular and what you would suggest for me? Thank you so much for your help!
Hi Melody,
It sounds like you need a real change. I have some ideas for you but It would be a lot easier if you could post a picture for me on my facebook page. Then I can make sure all my recommendations will work with your skin tone. http://www.facebook.com/jenniferjbeauty I look forward to hearing from you!
I wrote you back on Facebook Jennifer..posted a picture of my ugly messy hair. Hoping you can tell me what you would do to me if I walked into your salon and told you to do whatever you wanted to do to my hair. Hopefully I can have you do my hair when I come out west for a visit in a month. I would LOVE that. IN the meantime would LOVE some ideas. Thanks so much!
